A couple days ago all notifications started coming from amazonses, com domain instead of the usual [email protected] address. Each message has a different address making it impossible to group under a single contact name. Is this change intentional? Great service otherwise. |

The default address is [email protected] and it indeed comes through amazoneses.com, but that should be static, there is no change from camnotifier and I personally didn't notice any changes with the email sender. |

Problem only seems to occur when using email-to-SMS address as login ID. But it's likely hardly any of your users know how to set this up so wouldn't affect them. Works fine when I switched my ID to conventional ISP address (get camnotifier sender address). Something has definitely changed on this site. My Chaturbate notifications (originating from their similar service) still work fine and I use the the same email-to-SMS address there as I do here. So, no changes on my end. Has your reply address changed? The amazoneses address is listed as the reply address for both SMS and e-mail notifications. Is that supposed to be a camnotifier or amazoneses address? |

I personally don't know any ISP that provides the email-to-SMS service, but it's a good thing to know. I will research this problem, I was curious at first why the amazonses is listed next to the sender email address, but I lost track of that thought. It's supposed to be [email protected], I use amazon for all of the outgoing email so the email will get to your inbox at the right time. |

Not ISP, every mobile carrier offers free email-to-SMS. Try using any e-mail client to send an SMS to your phone using one of the gateways below. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_SMS_gateways Hopefully you will get hooked on SMS notifications like me and want to fix it. E-mail client notifications are not an option for some due to filtering or company monitoring. But, nobody logs SMS...except the NSA ;-) I'm getting hidden sender messages too now but message do not come through at all. All these problems at once makes it hard to troubleshoot but likely all related. Yes, please check how the amazon address could show up at all. Maybe a change on amazon end? |

I think I've narrowed down what the problem could be. From the link below, it seems due to your e-mail server's "Return-path", or lack of one. That must have changed a few month's ago, either your's or the Amazon WES service you use. SMS clients seem to use the the "Return-path" field to show the sender's address instead of the "From" or "Reply-to" address, unlike e-mail clients. My guess is you'll find it's either not defined or it's empty. http://code.google.com/u/114268717587344205611 Again, this problem ONLY applies to notifications sent to email-to-SMS gateways. Using the same gateway address with Chaturbate's notifier works, proving the problem is not with the gateway or the end user's client....me! ;-) Can you please check your Return-path settings? |

I have investigated and the return path is automatically replaced by a transparent return path by amazon. For now I have no control over it. |

Thanks for checking into it. It's a shame Amazon changed to that. SMS worked great until then. |
